Mouthguard Night 8/21 – Register Here

We are pleased to be holding our Fall mouthguard clinic on Monday, August 21st from 5:00-6:00pm. This is open to all children ages 6-16.

Your child will be fitted for a custom mouthguard, which will then be ready a week (or less) after August 21st. You can choose from an assortment of team colors. We do offer straps for sports requiring a helmet strap.

Did you know?

  • Simple and relatively inexpensive protective sports gear – such as mouth guards – can make a big difference in reducing or preventing oral injuries
  • In a recent survey, the American Association of Orthodontists found that 70 percent of parents said their biggest fear is that their child will get hurt while playing organized sports, yet 67 percent admitted that their child does NOT wear a mouth guard during organized sports including football, basketball, soccer and lacrosse.
  • The National Youth Sports Safety Foundation says that athletes who do not wear mouth guards are 60 times more likely to sustain damage to their teeth. Protect your child’s precious smile with a mouth guard.
  • The American Dental Association estimates that mouth guards prevent more than 200,000 oral injuries each year.

 

Spring mouthguard Night – April 10th

We are offering a Spring mouthguard night on Monday, April 10th from 5-7:00pm at our Rindge office located at 31 Sonja Drive. The mouthguard night is open to children ages 5-16 years old. There is no cost.  Please pre-register here.  

A custom mouthguard  are fitted to your mouth, which often provide more protection and comfort.

What sports should your child wear a mouthguard for? Here is the list recommended by the ADA:

The American Dental Association recommends wearing custom mouthguards for the following sports: acrobats, basketball, boxing, field hockey, football, gymnastics, handball, ice hockey, lacrosse, martial arts, racquetball, roller hockey, rugby, shot putting, skateboarding, skiing, skydiving, soccer, squash, surfing, volleyball, water polo, weightlifting, and wrestling. Other experts include baseball and softball infielders on that list.

Please note: The mouthguard night is only for children who are not wearing braces, if you are wearing braces we can give you a mouthguard at anytime.
